On Friday morning May 20, 2005, police sectioned off portions of Kornblum, Doty, 119th St. and 119th Pl. in Hawthorne in preparation for the the Beach Boys historical monument opening ceremony. The Dish network, Channels 4 and 7 were among the television crews there. The Hawthorne High band, Al Jardine and Brian Wilson performed. Carl B. Wilson, son of Carl Wilson Beach Boys band member, also performed with his band called "In Bloom". The official landmark site is www.beachboyslandmark.org.
